                  The World's Major Natural Lakes


  Baikal lake:


 It is considered among the world's clearest lakes and is considered the world's oldest lake. Lake Baikal is the deepest lake which is 5315 feet   It is the seventh largest lake in the world by surface area. with a surface area of 31,722 km² (12,248 sq mi)   located in southern Siberia, Russia.


  Caspian sea:


The Caspian Sea is the world's largest inland body of water, the world's largest lake  located between Europe and Asia  The sea has a surface area of 371,000 km² (143,200 sq mi). It is bounded by Kazakhstan to the northeast, Russia to the northwest, Azerbaijan to the west, Iran to the south, and Turkmenistan to the southeast.


  Superior lake:



Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes of North America, the world's largest freshwater lake by surface area, Lake Superior has a surface area of 82,103 km², (31,700)square miles.


  Victoria lake:



The surface area of Victoria lake is  approximately 59,947 square kilometres (23,146 sq mi),and the world's second largest fresh water lake by surface area after Lake Superior. The lake was named after Queen Victoria. The lake's area is divided among three countries: Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.


  Lake Michigan:



Lake Michigan is one of the five Great Lakes of North America. Michigan is the  third largest lake by surface area 58,030 km² (22,404 sq mi), after Lake Superior and Lake Huron. Lake Michigan is the only one of the Great Lakes located in the territory of the United States.


  Nyasa lake(Malawi):



Lake Malawi is the fourth largest fresh water lake in the world by volume and the ninth largest lake in the world by area  and the second deepest lake and third largest lake in Africa. Lake Malawi is between 560 kilometres (350 mi) and 580 kilometres (360 mi) long,The lake has a total surface area of about 29,600 square kilometres (11,400 sq mi).



      Lake Balkhash:



Lake Balkhash is that the fifteenth largest lake within the world. And one in all the most important lake in Asia. It is located in Central Asia in southeastern Kazakhstan. The extent of Balkhash lake is regarding 16,400 km² (6,300 sq mi). The western a part of Balkhash lake is fresh water and whereas the eastern part  of lake is saline water.


  Arebian sea:



The Arabian Sea's surface area is about 3,862,000 km² (1,491,130 sq mi) The Arabian Sea is a region of the northern Indian Ocean bounded on the north by Pakistan and Iran


  Lake Erie:



Lake Erie is the fourth-largest lake by surface area and the five Great Lakes in North America, and the eleventh-largest globally if measured in terms of surface area.Situated on the International Boundary between Canada and the United States, It has a surface area of 9,990 square miles (25,874 km²)


  Great Slave Lake:



Great Slave Lake is the second-largest lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada (after Great Bear Lake), and the tenth-largest lake in the world.The surface area of Great Slave lake is about  27,200 km² (10,502 sq mi).


  Lake Ontario:



Lake Ontario is one of the greatest Lakes of North America. Lake Ontario is the easternmost of the Great Lakes and the smallest in surface area (7,340 sq mi), 18,960 km². It is located in United States Of America and surface of Canada.


  Lake huron:



Lake Huron is one among the five Great Lakes of North America. By surface area Lake Huron is the second-largest of the Great Lakes, with a surface area of 23,007 square miles (59,590 km²) the third-largest fresh water lake on Earth. 



  Lake Tanganyika:



Lake Tanganyika is that the second oldest freshwater lake within the world. The second largest by volume  and also the second deepest,  after the Lake Baikal. It is the world's longest freshwater lake.The lake is located in Tanzania, Burundi, and Zambia.


  Lake Titicaca:



Lake Titicaca is a large and deep  freshwater lake in the Andes on the border of Bolivia and Peru, often called the "highest navigable lake" in the world. Lake Titicaca has a surface area of lake Titicaca is about 8,372 km².



  Chilika Lake:



Chilika lake is located in Odisha state on the east coast of India, and the second largest brackish water lagoon in the world 1,165 km².The surface area of Chilika lake is about 1,165 km².



  Lake Chad :




Lake Chad is a historically large, shallow, endorheic lake in Africa, The area of Chad lake is 1,350 km². Lake Chad is located in the far west of Chad and also the northeast of African country Nigeria
